How Sampark is Building Sustainable Education Models that Empower Schools

According to the United Nations, education is a crucial determining factor that can lead to sustainable development in various fields. When children receive quality education, they break the ceilings of unfit living conditions and poverty, and society progresses overall. Hence, sustainable education models are of extreme importance.
Our organisation, Sampark Foundation, also believes in this and was started with the four key stakeholders (administrators, teachers, parents, and children) in mind to progress on all fronts and have a lasting impact on primary education. This approach has led us to develop a model that can withstand the challenges our nation’s education system faces.
The ‘Teacher’s First’ Approach
Traditionally, children have been the only focus of education initiatives. But we felt differently. Children sure need to have resources to develop. However, the most crucial ones are the teachers. As children spend anywhere between five and seven hours in school on average five days a week, it is only right for them to have a guiding person who is qualified and well-equipped to work at their best potential.
We found out how teachers faced challenges on multiple levels, from spending excessive amounts of time on non-student engagement tasks like lesson plans and not having enough resources or training to multi-grade classrooms where providing enough attention to one section is humanly impossible.
Being deeply aware that these issues needed to be addressed in an accessible manner, we created our six innovations. These provided rapid scalability and high utility while being a frugal solution. They include:
1. Teach Easy Kits - A blend of teaching aids that enhances the Math and English learning experience.
2. Smapark Smartshala App - An app aligned with SCERT textbooks to guide teachers in lesson delivery.
3. Sampark TV - An interactive learning solution that works without the internet. It comes with preloaded content (like question banks, videos, and lesson plans).
4. Sampark Didi Ke Sawaal - A quiz-format assessment tool that makes academic evaluation hassle-free for teachers and stress-free for students.
5. AI-Driven Speak English Program - An AI program which features SCERT textbook content in animated style to help with pronunciation practice and improve speaking and comprehension abilities.
6. Sampark Dashboard - A dashboard designed to give a full perspective of the education ecosystem, with real-time monitoring and impact assessment.
The Ripple of Change Created With Our Methodology
With our teacher training and innovations, teachers feel confident, are less burned out by administrative tasks, and get a chance to engage with students more. This, in turn, positively impacts children as well. It has been reported that after implementing our education models, the attendance rate spiked by 16%, and academic scores improved by 32%. Not only that, but student participation and understanding of concepts also shot up.
This positive impact continues to show even in parents, as 70% of parents were able to trust the quality of education and became more proactive with their child’s academic requirements by being more aware of their achievements and attending school meetings.
When people form a chain of progress together, it creates a ripple effect that continues to grow over time and steadily changes the face of education. To ensure the success of our movement is lasting, we partner with the respective state governments. This leads to a wider community engagement in the cause, cementing the effects of the progress at the grassroot levels.
It’s a Big Journey Ahead
Various social, economic, and linguistic barriers stand in our way, so our mission still has a long journey before being fulfilled. This can only be catalysed with a higher rate of community involvement. Therefore, we invite you to join us in this movement and help us change the education standard nationwide by being a SPARK.
